About TAB Fabrications
T.A.B Sheet Fabrications was formed by Terry Birkumshaw in early 1982. The company was created to serve the needs of local businesses and industry ranging from dust extraction and guards for the wood working and plastic industry to stainless steel equipment to suit the marine and catering industry. With Terry's in depth manufacturing and mechanical knowledge, the company soon gained a reputation for being the "go to" company for an engineered solution. As the company grew so did the product range and customer base. TAB responded to the growing needs of customers by employing specialist staff in new fields to ensure that customers continued to receive the very best possible service.
TAB continued to grow and in 1988 moved to premises in Galliford Road; 8000sq feet of production area with additional design and office areas.
During the mid 1990's a dedicated design department was introduced, and subsequently an installation and service division was added to offer a full turnkey service to customers. The company ethos is that working closely with clients during the design period ensures efficient and cost effective solutions, which are underpinned by whole life costing considerations.
The industry has changed significantly since the formation in 1982 and TAB have adapted to suit customers ever changing needs both nationally and internationally.
In the late 1990s, TAB began designing and manufacturing Low Surface Temperature Radiator covers for a major UK Radiator supplier. In 2017 TAB extended the product range to offer robust anti ligature casings for environments where there is a greater risk of self harm including mental health care, custodial and hospital premises.
Also in 2017, underfloor heating spreader plate tooling was acquired and adapted to offer a wide selection of underfloor heating plates to suit any requirement.
